US President Joe Biden’s reputation is declining. His rating has dropped 10 points since NBC News’s first poll in April this year.
The rating has dropped to 42% after nine months of voting. Earlier in the initial stage, apart from Biden, the popularity of former President Donald Trump had decreased. The disapproval of the 78-year-old Biden has risen 15 points since April to 54%. The survey revealed that 71% of the people believe that the nation is heading in the wrong direction. Less than a quarter of people believe the country is in right hands.
On the declining credibility, the President said – Election is not my priority
, 75% of the people in the survey called Biden a failure in the matter of economy. However, in the press conference after the G20 meeting, Biden outrightly dismissed concerns of falling ratings. Biden, 78, said, “I am not the president to be sure how well I am going to do in the next election.” I am doing my job as US President.
Not much support for any party for the next elections
The survey has mirrored the Biden administration in the 2022 midterm elections. On the other hand, neither party is getting enthusiastic support in the survey. Trump’s Republican Party is doing a little better. 35% of people say they see the Republican Party forming the government
And 33% view Democrats favorably. But for Republicans the gap between positive and negative attitudes is small. 43% of Americans hold a negative opinion.
Biden’s reputation has been tarnished by the Afghan defeat and failure on the economic front. Biden has
also been grappling with several domestic crises since taking office in January, including the US’ hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan, the growing number of migrants on the southern border and rising inflation. There are also joint supply chain issues, which have led to a supply crisis in the country and prices are rising rapidly. US inflation rose to a 13-year high of 5.4% in September.
Biden-Harris rift, in February the two appeared together 38 times, in October
there are reports of rift between Biden and his deputy Kamala Harris. They both make appearances in a handful of shows to showcase their joint togetherness. In February, the pair were seen together 38 times. In October, both were seen only 8 times.
There is speculation that Harris has distanced himself from the president. The news of the rift has increased since Harris was entrusted with the incredible task of solving the immigration issue.
