The mystery of the attack on former US President Donald Trump has not been solved yet. The 20-year-old attacker Thomas Crooks was shot dead on the spot, but his death took many secrets with it.

This is the reason why even six days after the attack, the FBI has not been able to find out the reason behind the incident. Now a new and big claim has come up in this case. The US Parliament i.e. United States Senate has put the US Secret Service in the dock for lapses in Trump’s security. The Senate has also asked several questions to DHS (Secretary of Homeland Service) which have been asked to be answered within seven days.

In a letter written to DHS, the Senate said that ‘whistleblowers’ have shared many important information about the incident of May 13. Citing these whistleblowers, the Senate said that the security system at the place where Trump’s speech took place was very poor. The Secret Service has been accused of not installing security machines. No one was doing security checks of all the people attending. Anyone could easily come and go behind the stage on which Trump was standing and giving the speech. The Secret Service has shown great negligence in the security of Trump and the security of the stage.

Questions on Trump’s security personnel!

Regarding the attack on Trump, whistleblowers have also claimed that the security personnel involved in Trump’s security were from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) rather than the Secret Service. In such a situation, the question arises whether HSI is trained to protect a former president or not? Do they know about the protocols for protecting a president?

In this letter written to the Secret Service, the US Parliament said that it will investigate this matter itself. The Senate has also reprimanded the Secret Service for the negligence on the day of the attack. However, in its letter, the Senate has not revealed the names of the whistleblowers. All the names have been kept secret.

Questions asked from the Secret Service?

  • How did the Secretary of Homeland Services (DHS) decide who would be involved in Trump’s security?
  • What percentage of security personnel were from HSI rather than USSS (United Nation Secret Service)? Out of these two secret services, which service had more number of security personnel?
  • Is HSI trained for such events?
  • Was there any negligence in Trump’s security? Were the security machines used as per protocol?
  • Were security personnel deployed properly around the stage on which Trump was standing?
  • Were the people who got access to the backstage area given ID cards?
  • Did the security personnel themselves go and survey the area before the event?
