Lahore A nine-feet-tall statue of 19th-century Sikh ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh was erected in the royal fortress in Lahore city of Pakistan on Friday by unidentified youths.

This statue made of cold bronze was installed on the occasion of his 180th anniversary. The statue depicts the Maharaja holding a sword and sitting on a horse, as he usually appears. Following this incident, the local police arrested a youth named Zaheer and his accomplices living in Harbanspura, Lahore. This statue was installed in June 2019 in Lahore Fort with the help of Fakir Khana Ajaybaghar with the help of a local artist. Two months after its founding, it was damaged in August 2019 by two mischievous youths, Adnan and Assad.
