There will be another opportunity in the US for hundreds of Indian IT professionals. United States Immigration and Citizenship (USCIS) said in a statement that the decision was made after a large number of H-1B visas were issued without visas earlier this year.
Washington, Pretr. The US is going to conduct a second lottery for eligible H1B visa applicants. The decision will give a second chance to hundreds of Indian IT professionals who could not get H1B visas in the earlier selection. This information has been given by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Applications for the new draw can be made from August 2 to November 3.
Organizing second lottery
USCIS said it did not receive a sufficient number of Congress-approved H-1B visas during a computerized draw for H-1B visas held earlier this year. So the second draw was decided. The H1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specific occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise. Technology companies depend on this visa to hire thousands of people every year from countries like India and China.
Selection of additional applications by FY 2022
USCIS said in a statement that we recently decided that we need to select additional applications by fiscal 2022. The federal agency said only applicants with alternate registration for FY 2022 would be eligible to apply for an H-1B work visa. The first application period for those who registered for FY 2022 was from April 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021.
Application must be filed within the time limit
USCIS states that H-1B applications must be filed with a valid service provider and within the time frame listed on the relevant registration notice. Online applications are not available for H-1B applications. The application must be made in writing and must be accompanied by a copy of the registration option.
