TikTok Ban In US: A proposal to ban the short video app TikTok was passed in the US House of Representatives on Wednesday. After the ban on TikTok, China has expressed strong objection.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday that this is not fair. He said, there is no truth that TikTok is a threat to American security. This action is the irritation of not being able to compete. In the resolution passed by the House of Representatives, two options have been placed before TikTok, either its parent company should sell TikTok in America within six months or be ready for a nationwide ban.

This is the latest attempt in a series of restrictions on TikTok. Earlier, India, European Union and Canada etc. have banned it.

Giving the example of India, American lawmakers said that India had banned TikTok in 2020 considering it a threat to the country’s security, but it is now being considered here.

At the same time, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin alleged that America’s stance is a gross violation of international trade rules and competition. He said that it is pure nonsense for America to say that there is a threat to national security. During this, Wenbin warned that this action of sanctions could also have adverse effects on America.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed the bill by 352 votes against 65, considering TikTok’s current ownership structure as a threat to the country’s security. Now it will be sent to the upper house, the Senate. TikTok, used by 150 million Americans, is a subsidiary of Chinese technology firm ByteDance Ltd.

US lawmakers argued that ByteDance is controlled by the Chinese government. In such a situation, if the Chinese government wants, it can demand access to the data of American TikTok users.
