Just before the US presidential election, more than 100 former Republicans have now called Trump unfit and supported Democrat Kamala Harris. In recent weeks, many Republicans have endorsed the Democratic presidential candidate.

Less than 2 months are left for the US presidential election. In such a situation, the Democratic and Republican candidates who are contesting the election are now trying their best to win this race. Meanwhile, a news has come which former US President Donald Trump will not like. According to reports, on Wednesday, more than 100 Republican former national security and foreign policy officials have supported Kamala Harris for the presidency in a common letter. In this letter, Donald Trump has been described as unfit for another term as President.

Through this letter, former officials of the presidential administrations of Republicans Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush and Donald Trump have also said that they will not support Trump. Along with this, veterans like Democrat Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have also given their support to Harris, the Democratic candidate for the presidential post in the November elections. Some former GOP members of Congress also joined them.

These are the reasons for not supporting Trump

The letter said, “We believe that the President of the United States should be a principled, serious and calm leader.” It further said, “We may disagree with Kamala Harris on many domestic and foreign policy issues but we believe that she has the qualities necessary to serve as President and Donald Trump does not. Therefore, we support her becoming President.” The letter further said, “We oppose the election of Donald Trump. As President, he promoted daily chaos in the government, praised our enemies and undermined our allies, politicized the military and insulted our veterans. Trump prioritized his personal interest above American interests and betrayed our values, democracy and this country.”

Many Republicans are involved

Several Republicans have endorsed Kamala Harris in recent weeks. These include former Virginia Congresswoman Barbara Comstock. Other Republicans who have backed Harris include Alberto Gonzales, the Republican attorney general who served under the W. Bush administration, former Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger, as well as Trump’s former press secretary Stephanie Grisham and communications director Anthony Scaramucci.
