I think they’ll be fine now.” The two Southeast Asian neighbors have a long-standing border dispute. In late July, fighting between the two countries lasted five days, leaving dozens of soldiers and civilians dead. Trump says he threatened to halt trade facilitations, which halted the fighting. This ceasefire was further strengthened at the ASEAN summit in Malaysia last month.
