‘Pakistan is being treated differently’
Pakistan has always been accused of supporting the Taliban. Which he repeatedly rejects. Imran Khan says, ‘I think now the Americans have decided that now India is their strategic partner and I think that is why Pakistan is being treated in a different way.’ He said that a political settlement in Afghanistan seemed difficult to achieve under the current circumstances. Khan said that when Taliban leaders had come to Pakistan to reach an agreement, they tried to persuade them.

Imran Khan said, Taliban says that they will not talk to the Afghan government until Ashraf Ghani is the president. On the other hand, the Taliban consider Ghani and his government to be US puppets. This is the reason that till now no result of peace talks has come to fruition. The US is still supporting the Afghan army and airstrikes are being carried out on Taliban positions. But it is not yet clear whether America will support till August 31 or even after that. Imran Khan said that Pakistan has made it clear that after America leaves Afghanistan, it will not give it a military base.
