Washington, Reuters. America has taken an important step in the Kovid-19 vaccination of millions of children.
Now the children of 5 to 11 years of age here will be given a dose of Corona Vaccine Pfizer. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday approved the Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE coronavirus vaccine for children over the age of five.
With this, Pfizer has become the first vaccine to be given to children in America. However, the stock of the dose of this vaccine for this age group is not currently available.
At the same time, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still needs instructions about how the vaccine should be dosed.
Pfizer said on Saturday it would supply consignments of Pfizer vaccines for children to pharmacies and pediatricians.

Federal health regulators said last week that a specially designed dose of the Pfizer vaccine has been found to be highly effective in preventing symptomatic infections in primary school children and does not pose any unexpected safety problems. The regulator said this amid consideration of starting children’s vaccination in the US. The FDA gave information related to the analysis of Pfizer vaccine data at a public meeting next week to discuss whether vaccine doses are ready for some 28 million children between the ages of five and 11 in the country.
FDA scientists said in their analysis that the vaccine is beneficial in reducing the risk of hospitalization or death due to corona virus infection, and this benefit far exceeds any serious side effects of the vaccine in children in any scenario. Agency reviewers, however, did not recommend authorizing Pfizer’s vaccine. The FDA review confirmed Pfizer’s results that two doses of the vaccine were up to 91 percent effective in preventing symptomatic infections in children.
