Pentagon Firing: Two people familiar with the shooting incident, requesting anonymity, said that at least one person had died.

Washington. The incident of firing came to light in the US Defense Ministry Pentagon on Tuesday. This firing took place near the Pentagon’s nearest metro station. After this incident, the Pentagon has completely cordoned off the surrounding area. The Arlington Fire Department said operations were ongoing in the area and several members of its team were injured. Two people familiar with the shooting incident, requesting anonymity, said at least one person had died.

The incident took place on the Metro Bus Platform which is part of the Pentagon Transit Center, the Pentagon Protection Force Protection Agency tweeted and informed about this. A reporter for the news agency Associated Press heard several rounds of firing near the Pentagon building. After some time, he heard the sound of another shot being fired. Another AP reporter heard the police shouting ‘shooter’.

After the incident of firing at the Pentagon, it was told by tweeting from the official Twitter handle of the agency that, ‘Lockdown has been imposed in the Pentagon after an incident at the Pentagon Transit Center. We appeal to the people to avoid this area. More information will be shared soon.

An hour later, the Pentagon wrote that, ‘The place of the incident is completely safe. This is still an active crime scene. We request everyone to stay away from metro rail entrance and bus platform area. Pentagon incoming traffic has been diverted towards Pentagon City.

The agency said that the ‘lockdown has been removed from the Pentagon and the area has been opened. Corridor 2 and Metro entrance will remain closed for the time being. Corridor 3 has been opened for pedestrians.
