Washington. US President Joe Biden has passed a bill that has paved the way for citizenship of more than 5 lakh Indians in America. According to the bill passed by the House of Representatives, the lower house of the US Parliament, it will be easier for migrants living illegally in the US to gain citizenship since childhood. This bill, passed in the name of the American Dream and Promise Act, will fulfill the dreams of more than 5 lakh Indians living in America.

The House of Representatives on Thursday passed the American Dream and Promise Act by a margin of 228–197 votes and has been sent to the Senate for consideration. This bill will also make it easier for such people, who have to remain under legal supervision, and there is talk of sending them back to their country. It is believed that with this law, about one crore 10 lakh immigrants, including more than 5 lakh Indians, will get citizenship of America, who do not have documents.

Joe Biden supported the bill

US President Joe Biden has backed the bill, saying that he wants Congress to pass this bill, which will pave the way for about 1.1 crore migrants to get citizenship of the country. It is being described as a major step towards America’s immigration reform. In fact, the number of people living without legal status in America is 10 million and their new citizenship can be implemented with the effect of this new law. This law will directly benefit about 5 lakh people of India.

The bill will be introduced in the Senate,

which Biden said, “I support this bill and applaud the House of Representatives for passing this important law.” He said that this will provide much needed relief to the holders of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and the migrants living here and the youth who came to America as a child. Let us tell you that Dreamers (migrants) are basically indirect immigrants who came to America as parents with children. According to a policy document released by the Biden campaign last November, there are about 11 million unspecified immigrants, including more than 500,000 from India. The bill will now be introduced in the Senate, where it will take the shape of the law after the passing of Joe Biden after it is passed.
