Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Corona Vaccinations said that people who received the first dose of the vaccine, AstraZeneca, should take Pfizer-BioNtech or Moderna for their second shot.

Ottawa. Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization said on Thursday that people who have received their first dose of the vaccine, AstraZeneca, should take Pfizer-BioEntech or Moderna for their second shot. On June 1, the committee said that people who had received the AstraZeneca vaccine could take “Pfizer or Moderna” for a second shot. But on Thursday, the mRNA vaccine was described as the “primary” option. This is the first time the advisory committee has discussed two different vaccine shots. At the same time, evidence is beginning to emerge that when mRNA vaccine is taken as a second dose after the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine, it improves immunity.

The committee also updated its previous recommendation that people coming in contact with COVID-19 patients should take AstraZeneca instead of waiting for Pfizer or Moderna. Also said that everyone should always give priority to mRNA vaccine. Talking about India, Serum Institute of India (SII) will introduce Kovavax in the country by September. People familiar with its development gave this information to news agency ANI on Thursday. Kovavax is a variant of the US firm Novavax’s Kovid-19 vaccine. The Serum Institute also said it would begin clinical trials of Novavax for children in July.

The Novavax vaccine has shown strong efficacy against emerging variants of Kovid-19 during trials. The biotech firm had given this information on June 14. This is the fourth vaccine that the United States has chosen as a weapon against Corona. Novavax Inc. said that the vaccine dose is 90 percent effective in preventing Kovid-19. It is 100% effective in preventing moderate to severe symptoms.
