China increases the number of nuclear weapons rapidly, Science magazine report reveals

Hong Kong:  China is increasing its nuclear weapons capability. In the last few years, it has shown a rapid pace in not only the number of weapons but also their modernization. The increase in nuclear weapons under the supervision of the People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force (PLARF) of China is reported in the annual report of the Atomic Scientist. In this report, published in the report titled ‘Chinese Nuclear Force 2020’, the authors Hannes Christensen and Met Korda have given full details.

The report said that China’s nuclear weapons programs, which began in 1980, grew rapidly in the 1990s and 2000s. He has increased the number of these weapons significantly in the last few years. New missiles are also included in this stock. The advanced DF-41 and DF-31 AG missiles were launched in 2019 itself.

48 nuclear weapons are in ballistic missile deployed at sea

It is estimated that China currently has 350 nuclear weapons. Out of these, 272 have been handed over. 240 nuclear weapons are mounted in a ground-fired missile. 48 are in ballistic missile deployed at sea. There are 20 such bombs intended for bomber aircraft. There are 78 such weapons, which are being deployed at different places, both on sea and land.

Number of weapons increased from 290 to 350

There has been a significant increase in weapons in a year. The number of these weapons was 290 in the 2019 report of the Atomic Scientist, which has now increased to 350. This number is different from the annual report of the US Ministry of Defense.

The Defense Intelligence Agency of the US has estimated the number of nuclear weapons in China to be double in the next decade. The report says that China has also increased the strength of its nuclear submarines.
