Beijing, Pretr. Despite sanctions from the US, UK, EU and Canada, China’s ruling Communist Party has appointed the notorious administrator of Xinjiang province, Wang Zhunzheng, as the head of the party for the sensitive Himalayan region of Tibet.

Wang faces serious allegations of human rights violations against Uighur Muslims. According to China’s state-run Xinhua news agency, Wang Xunzheng has been appointed secretary of the Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region in the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) on Tuesday.

Wang, 58, was accused of persecution of Uighur Muslims in March this year when he was posted as the party’s deputy secretary and security officer. In the year 2019, he was given the charge of security chief of Xinjiang province.

A year before this, he was the political administrator of the Xinjiang region. His tenure in this period has been notorious for persecution against Uyghur Muslims.

Promotion given despite opposition from western countries

Wang has been campaigning against Uyghur Muslims and the Chinese government has now given him a new charge of wreaking havoc in Tibet. This promotion has been given to Wang despite opposition from Western countries.

He continued torturing and killing these regional minority Muslims. Observers say that his new appointment has also been made to make Tibet’s tight security more strict. The Chinese government continues to adopt new tactics to campaign against the Dalai Lama and his supporters.

Security forces deployed in large numbers

China has been accused of human rights violations against the Uighur Muslim population in Xinjiang. Here he has deployed a large number of security forces. The US has called China’s action in Xinjiang a genocide. Dragon denied the allegations, saying its actions in Xinjiang were aimed at curbing terrorism.
