Parliament: China’s former Foreign Minister Qin Gang has resigned from China’s Parliament. Qin Gang was dismissed as foreign minister last year and Wang Yi was reinstated as foreign minister.

Kin Gang had been missing since he was dismissed. Qin resigned ahead of the annual session of China’s national legislature. This session is going to be held from March 5.

Resignation accepted

According to a report by China’s state news agency Xinhua, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) said in a statement on Tuesday that Qin’s resignation has been accepted. The NPC is considered China’s rubber-stamp parliament that approves the ruling Communist Party’s agenda.
