Washington:  The new strain of Corona found in Britain does not seem fatal. However, it is spreading rapidly. Indian American doctor Vivek Murthy, who was appointed as Surgeon General in the health team of the newly elected President of the United States of America Joe Biden, has said this. He said that the new strain seems to spread rapidly, but we do not yet have evidence that it is more deadly. There is also no evidence that the corona vaccine would be less effective against it.

Vivek Murthy told NBC News on Sunday that if you are at home and you are listening to this news, the bottom line is that there is no change in the precautions we take to prevent the virus from spreading. It is still necessary to wear masks, maintain physical distance, and clean hands to prevent corona from spreading.

Many countries announced a ban on aircraft coming to Britain

On 19 December, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned about a new strain of the corona virus. It is spreading rapidly in London and southeast England. In the week ending 9 December, new strains accounted for 62 per cent of cases in London, 59 per cent in eastern England and 43 per cent in the South East. According to Britain’s Health Secretary Matt Hancock, the new strain of the corona virus is ‘out of control’. Due to this, several countries including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Saudi Arabia have announced a ban on passenger aircraft coming to Britain. Asian countries, including Japan and South Korea, said they are closely monitoring the new Corona virus strains identified in Britain, but no one has yet canceled flights from the UK.
