In the week ending 9 December, new strains accounted for 62 per cent of cases in London, 59 per cent in eastern England and 43 per cent in the South East. According to Britain’s Health Secretary Matt Hancock, the new strain of the corona virus is ‘out of control’. Due to this, several countries including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Saudi Arabia have announced a ban on passenger aircraft coming to Britain. Asian countries, including Japan and South Korea, said they are closely monitoring the new Corona virus strains identified in Britain, but no one has yet canceled flights from the UK.
