January 6 marks the first anniversary of the attack on America’s Parliament building ‘Capitol Hill’. On this occasion, former President Donald Trump and his allies had also expressed their intention to speak openly and for the same purpose had also announced a press conference. The attack took place on January 6 last year.
In fact, US President Joe Biden and Donald Trump were to address the nation on January 6, the first anniversary of the Capitol violence. Let us tell you that five people, including a police officer, were killed in the violence on Capitol Hill. According to the White House, Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will address the people of the country on the occasion of the anniversary.
Steve Benan, a close aide of Trump, had earlier said he would broadcast a special version of his podcast ‘War Room’ to mark the anniversary of the Capitol Hill attack. It will include Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Green, two of Trump’s fiercest supporters. Just a few days ago, Twitter permanently suspended Green’s account. Both Getz and Green are members of the House of Representatives.

Last year’s attack
The Capitol building was attacked on January 6, 2021. A pro-Trump crowd gathered at the White House to protest the certification of the 2020 presidential election and ransacked the Parliament building. More than 100 people were injured in this. Subsequently, four police officers from the Capitol were also killed. “January 6 was one of the darkest days of our democracy,” said White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
