After expressing condolences on the death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, America is once again surrounded in its own country. US Senator Ted Cruz raised many questions before Foreign Minister Blinken regarding the country’s foreign policy.
Cruz’s questions included expressing condolences to Iran for the death of President Raisi and the decision to delay the shipment of weapons to the Israeli army.
Foreign Minister Antony Blinken attended a Senate meeting on Tuesday to discuss the activities of the department. Where he had to face the anger of the senators over America’s foreign policy. Antony Blinken appeared to be in trouble while answering the senator’s questions. Senator Ted Cruz has described Biden’s foreign policy as harmful to America.
“The Gaza and Ukraine wars are the weakness of the Biden administration.”
Cornering Blinken in the Senate, Cruz said, “Mr. Secretary, you have presided over the worst foreign policy of modern times. When Joe Biden became President, he inherited peace and prosperity in the world. Now we have two simultaneous wars going on. The worst war since World War II is going on in Europe and the Middle East in 50 years.
I believe both have happened because of the continued weakness of this administration. In fact, your foreign policy is completely different from a rational American foreign policy. Our friends and allies have been repeatedly undermined and attacked by this administration. Your administration has shown continued appeasement of our enemies and has given billions of dollars to America’s enemies who want to kill us.
Answering the questions, Blinken said, “Actually we have brought more countries together. “We have stronger allies, stronger partnerships, stronger engagement than countries around the world to deal with a very dangerous world.” But Blinken could not explain his statement to Cruz. On expressing condolences on the death of Iran’s President, Blinken said, “Raeesi’s death is good for the Iranian people.”
Bad time for America’s foreign policy
This is the first time in America that such large-scale demonstrations are being held in support of Palestine. On the other hand, one side of America is cornering the Biden administration as to why their tax money is being used to promote war across the world. On the other hand, the Israeli lobby is very strong in America, hence the Biden administration is facing a lot of difficulties in striking a balance between the two parties before the elections.
