Sikh pilgrims from Britain, America, Canada will get free online visa in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi gave this information. He said that Sikh devotees coming from these three countries will be given free online visa within 30 minutes.
Naqvi’s remarks came after meeting a 44-member foreign delegation of Sikh pilgrims in Lahore on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Home Ministry, the minister extended a warm welcome to the Sikh pilgrims. He acknowledged that in the past Sikh pilgrims faced difficulties while travelling to Pakistan. Naqvi said the government has made the visa process easier for Sikhs by making it online. He said US, Canadian and UK passport holders can apply online and get their visa within 30 minutes without any fee.
What did he say about Sikhs of Indian origin?
Mohsin Naqvi said that this facility will also be available to Sikhs of Indian origin living in these countries. Providing more facilities to the Sikh community is the priority of his government. He announced that many Sikh heritage sites in Pakistan will be opened for darshan and no permit will be required for this. Naqvi expressed his desire to increase the number of Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan from one lakh to 10 lakh annually, with special emphasis on attracting the younger generation. The Pakistan government has started the facility of free visa for citizens of 124 countries.
