America tops Paris 2024 Olympic medal table
But today, America succeede d in increasing its gold balance, and the United States and China tied with 40 gold medals each, with the Americans advancing in first place with silver medals, and the total medals they won amounted to 126 medals, compared to 91 medals for China.
The United States topped the medal table at the Paris 2024 Olympics with 40 gold medals, ahead of China with 44 silver, while China won 40 gold medals but only 27 silver.
Games where America and China excel
While the US delegation focused on athletics and swimming, China focused on diving, table tennis, weightlifting, shooting and badminton.
In fact, about 20 percent of China’s 302 gold medals since 1984 have come in diving.
