New Delhi. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden, Australian PM Scott Morrison and Japan PM Yoshihide Suga are going to attend the quad meeting on Friday. The special thing is that the first meeting of the quad group of the four countries will take place. The four leaders will participate in this discussion in a virtual way. It is believed that in this meeting, many issues including Coronavirus Vaccine and safety can be discussed between the four nations. What is a quadrilateral security dialog?

QuadIt was started in 2007 by the then Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh. It was founded to counter China’s growing influence in Asia. However, in the year 2008, Singh had said that India is not involved in any kind of efforts against China. After this, India and Australia separated themselves from the group. After this, during the ASEAN conference in the year 2017, this group once again came to the fore. The four nations are meeting for the first time since the new beginning in 2017 on Friday.

What can one expect from this meeting?

It is being speculated that in this meeting, from the security situation, economic cooperation between the countries and environmental crisis can be discussed. A US administration official told Reuters that the group could announce an economic system to increase production of the Corona virus vaccine in India. The special thing is that both Modi and Biden will be present in the meeting. However, there is no news regarding this so that a separate meeting will be held between the two heads.

What is China saying?

China has also reacted to the news of the quad meeting. China says it hopes that this discussion will take place to establish peace in the region, not in its ‘opposition’. Like India, China is also engaged in vaccine diplomacy. In such a situation, the country has claimed that this vaccine is in opposition to nationalism and the politicization of vaccine cooperation.
