Washington. Amidst the increasing cases of corona virus, a new problem in America has been knocked by the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). This highly contagious disease is preying on children from 2 weeks to 17 years of age. US health officials have expressed concern over the increasing cases of Delta variants of Corona. Experts are also worried about what they will do if the cases of Kovid-19 increase in children.
The New York Times report, citing data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, wrote that cases of RSV increased gradually in June, with a rate much higher in the previous month. Symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing and fever can be seen when a victim of RSV. Heather Haq, a pediatrician at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, said in a tweet, ‘After several months of zero or very few child cases, now newborns, children and adolescents suffering from Kovid are being admitted to hospitals. This number is increasing day by day.
According to data from the New York Times, cases of new corona virus infection in America have increased by 148 percent in the last two weeks. Whereas, the number of patients admitted to the hospital has increased by 73 percent. The reason for the fast moving up transition graph is believed to be the delta variant. Along with this, the slow rate of vaccination in many states is also believed to be responsible for the increasing cases.
