First he was asked about India-America relations after the arrival of Trump government. Former US Secretary of State said on this, ‘There will always be trade between India and America. This is natural. The best way to think about how Trump’s second term will be is to know how his first term was. We have also worked with India on national security space, economics space, global stage. I hope that the policies of the second term of the Trump Administration will be similar to the first.
Making relations with India a priority
, Mike Pompeo further said, ‘I have full hope that the way he has worked in the past, he will continue to do so in future also. Perhaps they will have different policies for each country but maintaining deep bilateral trade relations with India will remain at the center of our efforts. I hope that the American people will again elect Trump as President.
Should the world be afraid of Trump’s return?
During the Rising India Summit, former US Secretary of State Pompeo was asked whether the world should be afraid of Trump’s return as President of America in January 2025. He said, ‘I think the world should be thrilled about Trump. How many wars started during his tenure? Do you have any idea? Zero. Major controversies began in Europe two years later. The most frightening incident that has happened in my lifetime is the attack by Hamas and what the Iranian administration did to women. Such things did not happen during Trump’s tenure. We established peace and prosperity. After Trump’s arrival, Vladimir Putin will not be able to capture even an inch of Ukraine’s land.
