Russia Ukraine War: Donald Trump’s claim of stopping the Ukraine-Russia war in 24 hours has been rejected by the Russian ambassador. Reacting to Trump’s statement, the official said, the Ukraine crisis is not going to be resolved in a day.

During the US presidential election campaign, Donald Trump has repeatedly said that if he becomes president, he will end the Ukraine-Russia war in 24 hours. But his claim has been rejected by a Russian official. Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, says that he cannot do this. Nebenzya’s statement came after the demand for a response to the Republican candidate’s claim. He told media persons that the Ukraine crisis will not be resolved in a day.

Donald Trump has said several times during his campaign that he could stop the war in 24 hours after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump has repeated this claim several times, during last week’s debate with President Joe Biden, Trump said “If we had a real president, Putin would never invade Ukraine.”

Western countries escalated the war

Vasily Nebenzya said that the war could have ended in Istanbul in April 2022. At that time Russia and Ukraine had come very close to an agreement. Russia attacked Ukraine on 24 February 2022, just two months before the Istanbul peace talks. However, Russia says that its ‘special military operation’ started in 2014.

Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimea after the 2014 war. The Russian ambassador has accused Western countries of blocking the April 2022 peace deal and asking Kiev to continue fighting Russia.

Nebenzya has called the recent peace plan of Zelensky and the Western countries a joke. Last month, about 80 countries participated in the meeting held in Switzerland regarding this proposal. But Russia and many big countries did not participate in it.

Russia ukraine war

After Russia’s invasion in 2022, the Ukrainian army has bravely faced the Russian army and prevented them from advancing towards the capital. Most of the fighting has been concentrated in the south and east of Ukraine, where the Russian army has taken control of four regions. The Ukrainian army is trying to push back the Russian army with the help of NATO and US weapons. But it has not been very successful in this either.
