As soon as Donald Trump won the US presidential election, there is a stir in the LGBTQIA+ community of America. Meanwhile, a new report can give another shock to the community. Trump is reportedly planning an executive order under which all transgenders will be discharged from the US Army.
According to officials, transgenders will be given medical discharge according to which they will be declared ineligible for the army. Earlier, during his first term as US President, Trump had also implemented such an order. He banned transgender people from joining the army. However, then those who were already part of the army were allowed.
According to The Sunday Times report, this time transgenders who are currently serving will also be removed. Trump can give this order on his first day as President on January 20 next year. Reportedly, about 15,000 transgenders are currently actively serving in the US Army. The report said that when President Joe Biden lifted Trump’s ban on transgenders in the army, thousands of military personnel revealed their transgender identity.
Trump has given these reasons
It is worth noting that Trump has opposed the inclusion of transgenders in the army many times. The reasons behind this, he has given are bringing awareness in America and freeing it from leftist ideology. Since his first term, Trump has said that he will make policies against promoting ‘madness’ like transgender and other sexually related topics to children in any school. He has also advocated keeping transgender athletes out of girls’ sports.
Trump’s associate also has similar thoughts
Now Pete Hegseth, the head of the US Army, also has negative views about transgenders. He has argued that the move to include women and transgenders in the army is weakening American security. Earlier this month, Trump’s vice-president JD Vance created controversy by making controversial remarks on transgender and nonbinary people. He said that some white children are encouraged to become trans to get admission in Ivy League colleges.
