The news agency reported Emirates WAM News of the launch of the first phase of the 5-gigawatt artificial intelligence complex in Abu Dhabi, attended by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed and US President Donald Trump.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, witnessed yesterday at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi the announcement of the inauguration of the comprehensive 5-gigawatt UAE-US Artificial Intelligence Complex, the largest of its kind outside the United States. The complex was held as part of the US President’s state visit to the UAE.
The complex will host US companies capable of leveraging the potential to provide regional computing services with the potential to serve countries in the Global South. It will also provide 5-gigawatt capacity for artificial intelligence data centers in Abu Dhabi, creating a regional platform that enables US giants to quickly provide services to nearly half of the world’s population.
Upon completion, the complex will utilize nuclear, solar, and gas power to reduce carbon emissions. It will also include a science center that will contribute to advancing innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
G42 will build and operate the complex in partnership with several American companies.
This collaboration is based on a new framework between the governments of the UAE and the US, called the US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership, to enhance cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
The UAE and the US will work together to regulate access to and use of computing services, which are intended for US-based big data manufacturers and cloud computing providers.
