Water from Air: There is a relief news from Israel for the world that is suffering from lack of potable water. An Israeli company has developed the technology to make water from the air.
Drinking water is being made from the moisture of the air using solar energy. In the densely populated Gaza Strip, people have been struggling with water crisis for a long time, but people are happy to get potable water directly from the air from this new technology.
This idea of making water from the air is the brainchild of Russian-Israeli billionaire Michael Mirilashvili. A company called Watergen of Mirilashvili has developed an atmospheric water generator, which can produce 5,000 to 6,000 liters (more than 1,300 to 1,500 gallons) of drinking water, depending on the air humidity.

At present, only a few machines of Watergen are working to make air-drinkable water in Gaza. The company is far from meeting the demand of the two million people who live in a crowded coastal enclave between Israel, Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea.
Fathi Sheikh Khalil, an engineer with the Palestinian civil society group Damore, says it is just the beginning. He says that when the humidity level in the air is above 65 percent, watergen machines can produce about 5,000 liters of drinking water. At the same time, an additional 1,000 liters can be produced if the humidity level is more than 90 percent.
According to the United Nations, only three percent of Gaza’s water meets international standards. In 2012, it was said that ecological pressures would make Gaza no longer viable. Several studies have shown that Gaza has consistently increased cases of kidney stone and diarrhea due to poor quality of water.
