The desire in which Pakistan had openly helped the Taliban to return to power in Afghanistan seems to be being fulfilled now.
The Taliban is fully engaged in reducing the tension of Imran Khan. Pakistan is now negotiating a peace agreement between Pakistan and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In Afghanistan, the acting Interior Minister in the Taliban-led government, Sirajuddin Haqqani, is reportedly involved in a dispute between Pakistan and the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Playing the role of mediator for a comprehensive peace agreement to end the two decades of terrorism between the Local media gave this information.
Pakistani newspaper Dawn quoted sources as saying that there have been direct and face-to-face talks between the two sides in Afghanistan’s south-western Khost province. A possible agreement has been reached with Pakistan and the TTP after one-on-one talks mediated by the Taliban.
However, it is not clear who is in talks with the TTP from the Pakistan side. The agreement includes the declaration of a nationwide ceasefire, the release of some TTP terrorists based on certain conditions, and part of confidence-building measures.
However, the TTP has so far neither confirmed nor denied the possible agreement between the two parties. So far, the number of terrorists to be released by the Pakistani government is not clear, but the newspaper quoted sources as saying that the number of such terrorists would not exceed two dozen.
Dawn quoted sources as saying that these terrorists are foot soldiers (terrorists) and not senior or middle level commanders. It is believed that the ceasefire will come into force after the prisoners are released.”
Dawn quoted the source as saying that these live talks are taking place between senior officials of Pakistan and the senior leadership of TTP. TTP includes all groups without exception. There are several proposals on the table and both sides are working to find a workable solution.
However, Dawn quoted a source as saying that it is clear that at present no tribal mediator is engaged in talks with the TTP leadership. Let us tell you that the Imran Khan government had sought help from the Taliban to get rid of the terror of TTP.
