Jerusalem, Reuters. The first shipment of Corona virus vaccine to Israel received on Wednesday. With this, the country’s distributors have predicted that by the end of the year, the consignment is adequate for about one third of the country’s population. The cargo plane, along with a consignment of the vaccine, landed at Ben Gurion Airport. Officials said thousands of doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived here for a trial run.

Pfizer agreed to provide 8 million doses of the vaccine to Israel last month. Israeli Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen said that the first batch of vaccines would be delivered to the elderly and other high-risk populations in Israel early Thursday this week. In Israel, with a population of 9 million, there were 347,497 corona virus infections and 2,925 people have died due to this.
