Beijing, Online Desk. After China’s controversial national security law in Hong Kong, the debate on the new border law of the dragon has intensified. Although this new border law of China will come into force in January next year and it has not yet presented the full blueprint of this law, but the market of speculation about it is very hot.

This law is also being viewed with suspicion due to China’s aggressive policy. Especially India is keeping a close eye on this law. It is believed that this law can be important for countries bordering China. Let us know about this new border law of China.

After all, what is China’s new border law? After all, why is India worried about this law? Is China adopting a strategy of pressure on India on the pretext of this law?

Why is India worried?

1- Prof. Harsh V Pant said that India is bound to be worried about this law of China. He said that China shares the longest border with India after Mongolia and Russia. China shares a 22,475 km long border with India with 14 countries including India. Like India, Russia and Mongolia do not have any border disputes with China. Apart from India, China has a disputed 447 km border with Bhutan

Out of this, China has settled the land dispute with 12 countries. On October 14 this year on the 400 km border with Bhutan, China has signed a three-step roadmap agreement to settle the border dispute. In such a situation, India is the only country with which China’s border dispute continues till now.

2- Prof. Pant said that India shares a 3,488-km-long land border with China. The border of both the countries passes through Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. There has never been a boundary demarcation between the two countries. However, the term Line of Actual Control is used to maintain the status quo.

3– India is worrying that China should not use the Land Boundary Act to justify the move to change the status quo on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). This is the reason why India has strongly condemned this law of China. Clearing its stand, India has said that this law is a one-sided stand of China. China cannot change the existing arrangement between the two sides by enacting such a law, as the border dispute between the two countries is yet to be resolved.

4- He said that this new law of China has come at a time when China is having a long-standing dispute with India in Eastern Ladakh and Northeast states. However, despite several rounds of commander-level talks between the two sides to resolve this dispute, the impasse still persists. The special thing is that China has linked the defense of the border with the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China in the new land border law. This is a matter of concern for India.

5- Apart from India, China is also fearing that Islamic extremists belonging to the Weigar Muslims of Xinjiang province may cross the border and come towards it. After the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, this concern is getting worse for China. This is the reason why China is keeping a close eye on the situation in Afghanistan. Apart from this, the risk of corona infection is also haunting him due to people crossing the border illegally from Vietnam and Myanmar.
