London. The people of Britain will have more time to make plans to start a family soon. The British government announced on Monday that it plans to extend the shelf life of eggs, sperm and embryos. The government said that this year on the basis of advice taken from the public, it proposes to preserve the egg, sperm and embryo (early stage of embryo) from the existing ten years on the basis of renewal period of 10 years for all. Will present in Parliament, in the new proposal there will be a provision to extend this period to a maximum of 55 years.

In the new system, the prospective parents will have the option to keep or destroy the egg, sperm and embryo at an interval of 10 years. Britain’s Foreign Minister Sajid Javid said the move was a “big step” towards people’s freedom to reproduce and equality, as the same rules would apply to all and the duration of egg, sperm and embryo storage determined on the basis of medical needs. Will not.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said that this change is being made after evidence that the egg can be frozen and kept for a long time and its quality does not deteriorate. This has been possible due to the new technology of freezing, which is called vitrification. The department said that this change reflects the high success rate and use of preserved embryos in IVF treatment.
