Pyongyang. North Korea has once again surprised everyone by testing tactical guided missiles. North Korea said on Tuesday it had tested “strategic guided missiles”. At the same time, the South Korean army had said a day earlier that two ballistic missiles of North Korea would be launched into the sea. North Korea has launched four missiles this month. North Korea’s foreign ministry has warned of strong action against US President Joe Biden’s administration imposing new sanctions over its recent trial. This was North Korea’s second test since then.

North Korea battling Covid-19
Experts say that North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un is trying to pressure him to get concessions from the US and neighboring countries, because his country is currently facing a bad economy and Kovid-19 is facing difficulties related to the global pandemic. North Korea’s official news committee, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), said the test was aimed at evaluating missiles that are ready and deployed. The agency said the missiles were fired at sea to confirm the accuracy, safety and efficiency of the system. But what type of missiles were, it has not been clarified in the news.

Kim Dong-yub, a professor at the Seoul University of North Korean Studies, said images displayed by the state media appeared to show North Korea testing a short-range weapon, similar to that of the U.S. The MGM-140 looks similar to the Army Tactical Missile System. The missile test was part of North Korea’s program to increase the number of short-range weapons. Experts say about this that its aim is to increase missile security in North Asia.

US warns North Korea
Following North Korea’s latest missile tests, US President Joe Biden’s administration last week imposed several sanctions on five officials from the Asian country. He said he would urge the United Nations to impose more sanctions on North Korea. At the same time, North Korea, while targeting the administration after this action, warned that if America persists with its confrontational stance, then strict and clear action will be taken against it.
