A court in Pakistan has ordered the killing of terrorist Omar Saeed Sheikh, convicted in the murder of Wall Street General journalist Daniel Pearl.

Islamabad A Pakistani court has ordered the release of terrorist Omar Saeed Sheikh (jailed in Pakistan) on Thursday. Omar Saeed Sheikh is among the three terrorists released by India who were released in 1999 with Masood Azhar, the leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed, in exchange for hijacked passengers on an Indian aircraft in Kandahar. Omar Saeed was sentenced in 2002 for the murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Sindh High Court has rejected the role of Omar Saeed Sheikh in the American journalist murder case. The High Court has ordered the release of Sheikh as well as Fahd Naseem, Sheikh Adil and Salman Saqib, jailed in the Pearl murder case.

Nawaz Sharif’s daughter raised questions on Imran’s ability

These four accused, including Sheikh, appealed to the High Court in April 2020 after an 18-year sentence. On hearing this, the court acquitted Sheikh Adil, Naseem and Saqib in the murder case, while changing the death sentence of Omar Saeed Sheikh to 7 years. By that time, all these 18 years had been sentenced, so this 7 years was counted in this. Along with this, he was also fined 20 lakh Pakistani rupees. At that time the court’s decision to release him was severely criticized.

Central government had increased custody

After the order from the court, the Government of Pakistan issued an order and ordered the custody of these four, including these Omar Sheikhs, for 90 days. On completion of this period, the central government of Pakistan issued another order for 90 days in custody, after which the matter again reached the court. The court ordered the immediate release of the four, saying that these people have spent 18 years in jail without any crime. While giving the order for release, the court has said that the names of these four should be kept on the no fly list so that they cannot go out of the country. What will be the stand of the Government of Pakistan on the court’s decision has not been known. Although the government of Pakistan had earlier opposed his release.
