A special POCSO court in Rajasthan on Friday sentenced the accused to death in the rape and murder case of a girl child. About a month after the accused was raped, he was sentenced.

A special POCSO court in Merta town of Nagaur district on September 20 this year awarded death sentence to a 25-year-old man for raping and killing a seven-year-old girl in a village under Padukalan police station area.

Additional Sessions Judge Rathore conducted continuous hearing after Nagaur police completed the investigation of the case in six days and filed the charge sheet on September 27. Prosecutor Sumer Singh said the court rejected the statement of the defense witness. He had claimed that the accused was mentally handicapped but on investigation the accused was found to be completely mentally sound.

According to the prosecution, the girl’s maternal uncle had lured her to an agricultural farm on September 20, where he raped and killed her as he feared that he would harm other family members in the incident. and threw his body behind the bushes.

On the complaint of the girl’s mother, the police recovered the victim’s body and arrested Dinesh Jat on the same day. sentenced to. Simultaneously, CM Gehlot welcomed further police investigation on the quick decision of the court.

Earlier on October 5, a Jaipur court sentenced a 25-year-old man to 20 years in jail for raping a 9-year-old girl, after the court sentenced the accused within nine days of committing the crime.
