This jump in prices came when Imran Khan’s government on Wednesday made the biggest subsidy package. To control inflation, the Imran government gave a relief package of Rs 120 billion. In this, a discount of 30 percent is being given on ghee, flour and pulses.

According to a Geo News report, despite the government’s assurance to work to curb the rising prices of essential commodities in the country, sugar is being sold at Rs 150 per kg in various cities of Pakistan, while petrol is currently at Rs 138.30 per liter. is being sold. The price of sugar has increased by Rs 6 per kg in the wholesale market of Peshawar.

According to a Geo News report, the president of the Sugar Dealers Association said that sugar is being sold at a wholesale rate of Rs 140 per kg, while the retail price has increased from Rs 145 to Rs 150 per kg.

Meanwhile, the price of sugar in the wholesale market in Lahore was Rs 126 per kg yesterday. Sources said Chinese dealers have increased the price by creating artificial shortage to earn money.

In Karachi, the ex-mill price of sugar has now touched an all-time high of ₹142 per kg, an increase of ₹12 from the day before. According to a Geo News report, a similar situation is being witnessed in Quetta, where the price of sugar has increased from Rs 124 to Rs 129 per kg.
