Forget about the pineapples on pizza debate. What about taco-flavored pizza?

Domino’s launched Monday two pizza specialties for delivery, the chicken taco pizza and the cheeseburger pizza.

The company said in a press release that tacos and cheeseburgers don’t deliver well likely because the bread or tortillas might get soggy.

“We’re excited to add even more options to our lineup of delicious specialty pizzas,” said Art D’Elia, Domino’s executive vice president-chief marketing officer. “Now friends and family who are craving a taco or cheeseburger on pizza night won’t be disappointed. Domino’s new taco and cheeseburger pizzas are sure to satisfy everyone.”

  • Domino’s chicken taco pizza is topped with: American, cheddar and provolone cheese, taco seasoning, grilled chicken, fresh onions, green peppers and diced tomatoes.
  • Domino’s cheeseburger pizza is made with: a ketchup-mustard sauce, American cheese, beef, fresh onions, diced tomatoes, shredded provolone and cheddar cheese.

If you ask Midwesterners, these aren’t new items. According to the Quad-City Times, taco pizza originated in its local region of Iowa and Illinois.

Pizza Hut and Papa John’s both have burger pizzas for delivery, as well.

Customers can order either specialty pizza at Domino’s for $11.99 each.
