Mohammad Yacoub, son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, has come face to face in public for the first time. The hardline Taliban is trying to polish its image by doing all this. In a TV program, Afghanistan’s new Defense Minister Mohammad Yacoub has appealed to local businessmen to invest in the hospital.

During the first Taliban regime, Mullah Omar, the father of the movement’s supreme leader, Yakub, rarely made public appearances. Even his photographs were banned. The news was not made public until two years after his death in 2013. But since the capture of Kabul in August 2021, Taliban leaders have been in general public appearances.

Mohammad Yacoub has said at the Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan Military Hospital in Kabul that the expenditure should be on the hospital. He has appealed to businessmen as well as doctors to invest in the medical sector.

Let us tell you that Afghanistan is scattered due to the ongoing war for years. The economy of Afghanistan has been in bad shape since the withdrawal of the Taliban. Afghanistan is facing several international sanctions. Millions of afflicted people need treatment.

Yakub was once the head of the Taliban’s powerful military commission. He has got a lot of advantage in the organization because of his father. The senior most post in the new government has been given to his father’s close friends.
