After the attack on former US President Donald Trump, many questions are being raised on the US security agencies. Such an attack on a President in a country that is considered the world’s superpower is extremely shameful. While Trump supporters are angry after this attack, groups criticizing America have started to criticize its security agencies. Two days after the incident, more links are now being revealed. Agencies are blaming each other for where the security lapse occurred.

On Sunday, a young man named Thomas Crooks attacked Donald Trump during a rally. Crooks fired eight bullets from an AR-style assault rifle, one bullet grazed Trump’s ear and one Trump supporter died and two others were injured in the attack. However, security personnel retaliated and killed the 20-year-old attacker on the spot. Now questions are being raised as to how Crooks managed to reach the roof of the AGR International Inc. factory despite such tight security.

The police watch post was on the same rooftop where the attacker was

According to the New York Post, the local police’s counter-sniper team was stationed in the same building where Thomas Crooks climbed on the roof of the AGR International Inc. factory and fired the shot. Despite this, Thomas Crooks reached the roof of the building without any trouble and carried out the attack. Police sources told The Post that this building was being used as a ‘watch post’ by the local police, where snipers were looking for potential threats during Trump’s speech. This factory was just 130 yards away from the stage.

The police saw it but did not take any action

According to local outlet WPXI, Crooks was seen at the building 26 minutes before the shooting. A police officer from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit also took a photo of the gunman before the shooting. Sources said it was unclear whether local officials overseeing security at the outer perimeter of the Butler County Farm Showgrounds warned Secret Service agents about the gunman.

A Butler Township police officer climbed onto his fellow officer’s shoulders to inspect the building’s roof just before the shooting, but retreated when Crooks pointed a rifle at him. A Butler City police dispatcher told The Post that Pennsylvania State Police were tasked with securing the AGR grounds. State police declined to comment Monday.

All the security agencies are blaming each other, but the security lapse and the motive behind the attack have not been ascertained yet. This attack has raised concerns about trust in security measures and coordination between security agencies.
