Uber Pass, Uber’s subscription service introduced in 2018 at $14.99 a month, is expanding to include discounts on Uber Eats and grocery deliveries, at $24.99 a month.
The membership provides users:
- 10% off UberX, XL and Comfort rides
- 15% off Black, SUV and Premier rides
- $0 delivery on Eats orders over $15
- 5% off Eats deliveries over $15
- $0 delivery on grocery orders over $30, where available.
“For anyone relying on Uber to move around their city or deliver local favorites to their door, Uber Pass is live nationwide for U.S. customers,” a statement from Uber read.
Uber Pass, however, is not available in California – continuing the company’s debate with state authorities over how it classifies drivers as independent contractors.
A new survey from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows how consumer attitudes about using ride-hailing and delivery services have changed, with a majority of saying they feel uncomfortable using a ride-hailing service during the coronavirus outbreak.
Among the people who used ride-hailing before the crisis, 63% said they have not taken a ride since March.
While Uber said gross bookings on rides were down 75% in the three months through June, Lyft, has previously said its April ridership was down 75% from April 2019.
