Xi Jinping depicted Putin’s visit as a commitment to unite for the Winter Olympics. In fact, a big deal has been reached between the Russian President and the President of China, who went to be a part of the Beijing Olympic Games celebrations.

US President Joe Biden’s statement has come amid reports of Russia’s new alliance with China following escalating tensions with Ukraine. Biden described the growing closeness between Russia and China as old. The US president said on Sunday that the Chinese and Russian heads of state reaffirmed the friendship between their nations after meeting in Beijing last week, but there was nothing new.

When asked by reporters that he was worried about Russia coming too close to China, Biden said that there is nothing new in this to be worried about. Significantly, Biden’s statement came after Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Beijing on Friday.

According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the two presidents held in-depth discussions on key issues related to China-Russia relations and international strategic security and stability.

Xi, on the other hand, portrayed Putin’s visit as a commitment to unite for the Winter Olympics, adding new energy to China-Russia relations.

In fact, a big deal has been reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, who went to be a part of the Beijing Olympic Games celebrations. This deal is related to gas and oil supply. It is worth noting that most of the gas and oil supply to the whole of Europe comes from Russia. But in recent days, the situation has been changing with the rise of tensions with Ukraine and the US jumping into it. Because of this, Russia is looking for new options as its trading partners.
