Mainly 3 Islamic fundamentalist organizations (Ansrullah Bangla Team, Hifazat-e-Islam, Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh) are involved in the attacks. 1. Ansrullah Bangla Team (ABT), King – Muhammad Jasimuddin Rahmani

Establishment – Rahmani was an imam in a mosque in Dhaka. From 2008 to 2013, ie in about 5 years, he had set up this organization. He used to propagate his ideas through a website named Ansrullah Bangla Team. The server of this website is in Pakistan. It is also available on Facebook.

Karstani – It works to incite against Hindus. The first came to the fore after the brutal killings of secular bloggers in Bangladesh in 2013. Banned by the Bangladesh government in 2015 after being involved in a major bank robbery.

2. Hifazat-e-Islam, the leader- Mahibullah Babunagari

Establishment – In 2010, Madrasa was built by teachers and students. Funding is done by Pakistan. In 2009, the Bangladesh government drafted a women’s development policy, which was opposed and ransacked on a large scale by radical groups. After this, this organization came in discussion all over the world.

Exploitation – In March-April this year, a young man had uploaded a video criticizing Joint Secretary Mamunul Haque. 80 Hindu houses were burnt in protest. The same organization instigated riots and violence during PM Modi’s visit to Bangladesh.

3. Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), leader- Maulana Saidur Rahman

Established – Formed in 1998. It came into limelight in 2005 when about 500 serial blasts were carried out in 64 districts of Bangladesh. After this the Bangladesh government eliminated all the prominent members of this organization. By 2010, it was believed that this organization was over.

Exploits – The existence of this organization came to be known in 2014 when an accidental explosion took place in Burdwan. Then the secret bases of the organization came to the fore. In 2016, a group of JMB exploded at Dhaka’s Holy Artisan Bakery.

About 413 attacks on Hindus are being carried out every year in the neighboring country.

  • According to leading rights group Ain o Salish, 1678 cases of vandalism on Hindu temples, idols and places of worship were registered in nine years. The year 2014 was the worst. 1201 houses of Hindus were destroyed.
  • The situation was improving for the last five years, but this year the terror started increasing again. As of September 2021 in Bangladesh, 196 houses, trading centers and temples of Hindus have been destroyed.
  • According to the report, temples, idols and statues were targeted in 45.11% of the total incidents of vandalism between January 2013 and September 2021. Whereas 42.35% of the incidents are of attacks on the houses of minority Hindus.
  • After Khaleda Zia’s election victory in 2001, her supporters carried out violent incidents against Hindus for 150 consecutive days. According to the report of the Judicial Commission, during this period about 18 thousand major criminal incidents, about one thousand Hindu women were raped and 200 were gang-raped. A large number of Hindus migrated to India.
